Our Name

The Saint Philomena Foundation is prayerfully dedicated to this powerful little saint. She has helped us at every turn and we recommend devotion to her wholeheartedly to all who visit this web site.

Like she had, we have lived our lives in obscurity, content to remain in the station God had placed us in. But as you can read in Simonetta's story, she was given this musical gift that was suddenly evidenced to her and now needs to be shared. The odds are definitely against us. How can anyone produce professional quality popular Catholic music, give it away and still exist? Only through the Grace of God and the generosity of our benefactors (such as you).

Saint Philomena plays an important role in Simonetta’s life. In the early stages of forming the Foundation, a name was needed for it. Was it to be named after Saint Cecelia or perhaps Saint Terese the Little Flower? These saints are very wonderful saints and truly have great meaning to the Foundation, Saint Terese being the subject of one of Simonetta’s songs on the CD. The name was eventually to be found in a novena prayed by Simonetta.

It was around this time that Simonetta became exposed to the devotion of wearing a simple red & white cord in honor of St. Philomena.  Red represented the little saint's martyrdom and white her purity.  After making the commitment to herself wear a St. Philomena cord, she began praying a 54-day Novena to St. Philomena.

It was in the midst of this novena that a benefactor for the needed funding for the production of the recordings and final production for the CD was found. It was only through this novena that Saint Philomena miraculously answered their prayers and the production was able to be completed.  It was evident to Simonetta at this point that St. Philomena was to be the patroness of the foundation.
